- CRTA opposes the Richman Initiative, that reduces Public Employee Benefits.
- The court ordered the state to pay back STRS the five hundred million dollars used to balance the state budget. in November 2007.
- Senator Diane Feinstein has reintroduced the Social Security Fairness Act (S.206) for teachers in the 110th Congress.

California Retired Teachers, Fallbrook Division 81,has recognized two of their members for their services to the community.
